The novel coronavirus, often described as an invisible enemy, is indeed a nanoscopic object that cannot be seen. But COVID-19 can be made audible. MIT professor Markus Buehler used a computational algorithm to translate the structure and sequence of the virus’ spike protein into music. The result is a moving symphony of relaxing sounds that reflects how the virus tricks our bodies and takes over our cells.
