- Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz became romantically linked in 2021.
- The stars have since gone public with their relationship and are reportedly engaged.
- Tatum will star in the upcoming movie “Blink Twice,” which marks Kravitz’s directorial debut.
Speculation occurred shortly after Kravitz filed for divorce from Karl Glusman, whom she wed in Paris on June 29, 2019.
E! News reported that the relationship rumor was not accurate. A source told People, “They’re working together on an upcoming project and it’s not true that they’re dating.”
Tatum’s last known relationship was with the musician Jessie J, who he dated on and off from 2018 to 2020. He also shares a daughter named Everly with ex-wife Jenna Dewan, who he was married to from 2009 to 2018.
In mid-August, paparazzi caught Tatum riding a bike in New York City with Kravitz sitting behind him and her arms draped over his shoulders. Another photo showed the two stars walking together in the city on the same day.
“They are spending a lot of time together and having fun,” an anonymous source told E! News. “They are more than just close friends or costars. Their relationship has grown into more.”
Shortly after, they were seen smiling while drinking iced coffee in NYC.
On another occasion that month, Tatum and Kravitz were photographed exiting a supermarket in upstate New York with items like flowers, toilet paper, and a roasting pan.
They were seen again in Manhattan and Brooklyn, too. A source told People, “They spent the weekend in NYC, strolled around the city, met up with friends and visited the Guggenheim Museum. They looked very happy. They have this cute and flirty chemistry.”
In late August, fans also noticed that Tatum was following several fan accounts dedicated to Kravitz on Instagram, including @zoekravitzsource and @kravitzupdate.
The actors were seen holding hands while walking together in NYC. Another image showed Tatum with his arm wrapped around Kravitz’s shoulder.
Weeks later, a source told People that the stars are “more relaxed lately” and “don’t seem to care about hiding their relationship anymore.”
In a cover story with Variety, Tatum said that he told Kravitz not to star in her directorial debut, “Blink Twice,” based on the workload he experienced while co-directing and starring in the film “Dog.”
“I was like, ‘You’ll need double the days,'” Tatum said. “She’s a perfectionist in the best possible way.”
“I’m happy,” Kravitz told Elle in a cover story for the March 2022 issue, in response to a comment about her joyful demeanor in paparazzi photos of herself with Tatum.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, published in August 2022, Kravitz reiterated past comments about being interested in Tatum for her movie because he “hadn’t played a dark character before,” but she was confident that he was a fit for the part.
Tatum also told the publication that he didn’t know Kravitz prior to meeting her for the movie.
“When we first met the movie was pretty different than its form now, but the themes were the same,” he said. “All the iterations it has gone through were all pretty punk rock, to be honest.”
Of her relationship with Tatum, Kravitz said: “Do I want to go into that? I guess what I’ll say is when you make things with people it’s a very sacred space, and when you’re compatible with somebody creatively it often opens up other channels, because you’re kind of sharing all of yourself.”
“I’m really grateful that this movie has brought him into my life that way,” she added.
Tatum told Vanity Fair that he met Kravitz for the first time after reading a draft of “Blink Twice” that didn’t make it “clear yet” what kind of film it was supposed to be.
“She had passion in there, and she had a point of view that was really specific to who she was and what her experience was,” he said. “But I wasn’t sure it was clear yet, what it wanted to be.”
“Literally, after that meeting, my life went how it did and we lost touch,” Tatum added. “Then, cut to two and a half years later, they had a new draft, and it was great.”
“That’s the kind of person you want to create with,” he said of Kravitz. “That really has this perspective they’re constantly digging for.”
As for his decision to follow various Kravitz fan accounts on Instagram, Tatum admitted that he has “no chill.”
“I was just seeing what she was up to! Also, I didn’t know anyone would know,” he explained.
The couple wore all-black attire and held hands as they left the event. Before that, Kravitz sat in the front row of the brand’s womenswear show as part of Paris Fashion Week.
Multiple sources told People that Tatum and Kravitz got engaged. Kravitz’s apparent engagement ring was seen on her left hand when she attended Jenner’s Halloween party.
At the premiere of his movie “Fly Me to the Moon” Tatum told Extra that collaborating on “Blink Twice” was a good test for their relationship.
“Working with your partner truly is — you know, I know a lot of people are afraid of it — it was the thing that cemented us in a way,” he said.
We kind of grew a little bit right before we started filming, and then it’s like, ‘OK, we’re gonna go do this.’ It just brought us together,” he added.
“To get to create something with someone that you love is probably one of the most gratifying things other than having a kid with somebody, I think,” Tatum told People magazine of filming the movie.
“You truly are creating something from nothing and it’s just like creating a marriage or creating something where you’re like, everything that we are is going into this thing and you want to make it with people that you love,” the actor added.
Kravitz shared similar comments, telling People that working on “Blink Twice” made them closer.
“We got to work together and go through hard things together and support each other, and it was beautiful,” she said.
Kravitz’s praise of Tatum didn’t end on the red carpet. While onstage at the screening, she pulled out a notebook and read a note to the audience about him.
“From producing to performing to the pep talks to holding my head or my feet while I cried on the bathroom floor because I thought I fucked it all up, thank you for letting me be a complete OCD psycho control freak. Thank you for your patience,” Kravitz said.
“Making this film with you has been an awfully great adventure,” she added. “Thank you for trusting me to female direct you. It’s really very cool to get to make a movie, but when you get to do it with the love of your life, it’s even cooler.”
