Apple AirPods Pro 2 have been approved by the FDA to function as hearing aids

Just a few days after Apple unveiled the Hearing Aid feature for AirPods Pro 2, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorized it, marking the first-ever ‘Over-the-Counter Hearing Aid Software’ to be approved.
